Korea's staple culinary dishes such as a rice bowl mixed with seasoned vegetables known as "bibimbap" and marinated barbecued beef called
"bulgogi" have become the center of international acclaim in recent years.
Despite the World Health Organization having touted Korean cuisine for its nutritional value, there is still more to share with gourmet palates
around the world.
So, Seoul's foreign ministry and a civil advocacy group on promoting
Korea's traditional dishes have collaborated with local restaurant businesses
to host the first Korean Culinary Music Concert in Seoul.
Organizers of the event merged the country's exquisite selection of food and various genres of music to better promote through diplomatic channeling.
And more than a dozen ambassadors from various parts of the globe attended
the ceremony to experience Korean dining.

"Food in harmony with the environment brings out the best taste and I have
always thought about merging music and Korean food to offer the best taste
in globalizing the country's traditional cuisine."

In fact, some of the performers presented songs containing lyrics about Korea's symbolic foods such as bulgogi and kimchi.

[Interview : Edward Kwon
Celebrity chef] "I think this is a great great chance to introduce Korean food,
rather than just showing the food. A lot of guests actually expect good music
and food as well and of course the service. So, I think this kind of ceremony shows that music is important to the market, well matched with the food as well."

Having their five senses stimulated, attendees at the event said food, life's
basic necessity, is the easiest way to attract interest in one's culture and
lifestyle.
Officials involved in the initiative plan to combine food and other forms of
cultural arts, including fashion, to further promote Korea's culinary tradition
abroad, while also fostering the country's tourism industry.
