Association chairman Lee Jang-woo says... his mother, who has been running a restaurant for 55 years, always tells him that the door should always be open for multicultural families, foreign workers and the elderly... that may feel alienated... especially during the holidays.

This is Jung Pan-shim, a 100-year-old woman who hands out boiled eggs to 150 homeless people at Jongmyo Park every weekend with the money she earns by selling gimbap, a Korean fast food item made out of steamed rice and rolled in seaweed.
Her participation in the event shows that anyone... even those who do not make a lot of money... can share with others if they just have the willingness to reach out to the needy.
The warm-hearted gesture made by many people around the capital... has definitely made the Lunar New Year holiday here in Seoul... even more memorable.
